What kind of childcare services are offered?
We offer preschool and childcare services.
Are you a day care center?
We are currently in the process of obtaining the child care center license for one of our locations. At this moment, we are operating both of our locations as family day cares fully licensed by the California Department of Social Services.
What is the age for preschool students?
Children must be four before December 2 of the current school-year.
Is the preschool program available for children who live in nearby counties?
No. The preschool program is intended for children whose main residence is in Los Angeles County.
How much does the preschool program costs?
Parents only pay a $200 investment fee and the remaining cost is covered by public funds.
Are there different schedules for preschool?
Yes. We are currently offering AM and PM schedules.
The AM schedule is from 8:00 am to 11:30 am Monday thru Thursday (some Fridays required).
The PM schedule is from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday thru Thursday (some Fridays required)
Are childcare services offered?
Yes. We offer childcare services at one of our locations.
If I enroll my child in the preschool program, can I get childcare services as well?
It all depends in current enrollment and the capacity limits set by the California Department of Socila Services.
Where are the services offered?
The services are offerd in Lancaster, California thru two family day care providers.
Is transportation provided?
At this moment we are not offering transportation. However, starting September 2008 transportation services will be offered at a fee.
Can I volunteer to help in your program?
Yes as long as the following requirements are met:
- Volunteer must be related to at least one child in care
- Volunteer must have CPR card
- Volunteer must pass LifeScan clearance
Do you have any program to help the community?
Yes. Mrs. Mary is cerified as a Director Mentor and she helps other directors and providers in educational and operational issues.
Also, donations are taken from parents and given to those in need in the area.
What kind of curriculum do you use?
We are currently using the Abeka Program that was developed by the Pensacola University in Florida.
For the 2008-2009 we will start implementing a European based approach. It is from Italy and it is called the Regio Emilia approach and focuses on the use of recycled and unconventional (yet children safe) materials. This approach greatly increases the creativity and problem-solving skills of children.
Is the program bilingual?
Yes. The program is bilingual: English/Spanish.
Do you accept CCRC?
Yes, for the child care program. Subsidized programs cannot exceed 25% of total enrollment.
Do you provide the meals for children?
Yes. Once we get licensed as a day care center meals will be provided at a fee.
Do you offer field trips?
Yes we do. Usually the transportation expense and entrance tickets (if applicable) must be paid by the parents in advance.
What is the child/adult ratio?
For the preschool program 8/1.
Are the teachers well qualified?
Yes. Teacher assistants have at least 12 units in Early childhood education. Teachers have at least an AA degree in Early Childhood Education. In addition, all staff is CPR certified and finger-printed clear.
Do you provide outdoor activities?
Yes we do. At least 1 hour a day of guided/suppervised outdoor activity is offered. Depending on weather conditions this could change.
Do you have a program for children with special needs?
At this moment we do not have the expertise that children with special needs require. We can provide you with a list of providers specialized in that type of service.
